About ThreadGrab
Last updated: June 6, 2026
ThreadGrab is a free tool that helps you save, archive, and convert X (formerly Twitter) threads into clean, readable formats. Paste a thread URL, get back the full thread as Markdown, plain text, or a permanent archive link.
Who is it for
- Journalists — archive sources before they disappear or get deleted
- Researchers — build reproducible datasets from public conversations
- Content creators — turn threads into blog posts or newsletter issues
- Anyone who reads long threads — get a clean reading view without the algorithmic noise
What ThreadGrab does
- Extracts the full thread (original post + all replies) from any public X/Twitter URL
- Outputs in Markdown, plain text, or HTML — paste anywhere
- Generates a permanent archive link so the thread survives deletion
- Works without an X account (we use the public API)
What ThreadGrab doesn't do
- Access private or protected accounts (we can't, and we won't)
- Track you, sell your data, or show ads (see the privacy policy)
- Replace X — if you want to follow people in real time, use X. ThreadGrab is for the long-form threads worth saving.
Who built it
ThreadGrab is built by Jason Mai, a developer who kept losing access to important threads when authors deleted them. Read more on About.me.
Affiliate disclosure
ThreadGrab is free and doesn't run ads. The site may participate in affiliate programs for related products (writing tools, archiving services). Affiliate links are clearly marked when used.
